The Advanced Technology Demonstrator (ATD) is a dual-polarization Phased Array Radar (PAR) located in Norman, Oklahoma. The ATD is the first full-scale S-band dual-polarization PAR designed for weather observations. It is designed to investigate the ability for PAR technology to be a next generation radar system in the United States, including developing and refining dual-polarization technology applied to a planar array PAR.
ATD data are minimally quality controlled (in post-processing) and are available in two formats: NEXRAD MSG31 and CfRadial 1. Data may contain artifacts related to the experimental nature of the system. For conversion tools, visit LROSE.net.
